We are delighted to officially announce the recipients of the 2024 Kentucky Women in Agriculture Scholarships. This program is one of our favorite ways to support KWIA members.
After a careful review of many outstanding applications, the organization congratulates Kelsey Johnson and Rebecca Grimsley on their selection!
Kelsey Johnson is a graduate student at Murray State University, where she is studying Agricultural Economics with a minor in Ag Education. Her many professional accomplishments and leadership roles in ag organizations are tremendously admirable, and those achievements are also coupled with the responsibilities of her role in the family cow-calf operation in Owen County. Kelsey is also a proud mother and community servant, who will undoubtedly continue to make us proud with her dedication to the agriculture industry.
Rebecca is a senior at Murray State University where she expects to graduate in May, 2025 with her undergraduate degree in Agricultural Education. Originally from Pulaski County, she has demonstrated her passion for agriculture not only through her family’s beef and hay farm, but also in many impressive leadership roles during her academic pursuits. Rebecca plans to serve the agriculture community in the future by teaching in a classroom setting, where she is sure to continue her reputation for excellence and advocacy.
We’re proud to have these women as members of our organization. They are assets to Kentucky agriculture and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
Please join us in congratulating Kelsey and Rebecca!
