Congratulations to Julie A. Peterson. Julie Peterson is a graduate student at the University of Kentucky, pursuing her doctorate in entomology. Julie grew up in Louisville, but her family is rooted in generations of tobacco and subsistence farming in Hardin County.
“I’m thrilled to be able to reconnect with Kentucky agriculture today as a graduate student in entomology,” said Julie. “As a professor, I want to help other young urbanites reconnect with agriculture and the environment, as I have.”
Julie’s doctorate thesis “focuses on the ecology of generalist predators in agro-ecosystems, with an emphasis on food-web interactions in transgenic crops.”
